Who is Wotan?
Wotan is one of the various alternative names for the Norse war god, Odin. The name is also spelled as Wodan or Woden. While Thursday is Thor’s day, in a similar fashion, Wednesday is Woden’s day. Legend has it that Odin would ride his magical horse, Sleipnir, to travel through the air and across the ocean. Unsubstantiated sightings have placed Odin around the Ipswich Waterfront area, principally on Wednesday evenings. However, many of these claimed sightings may be attributable to the consumption of sumptuous cocktails in The Gallery.
