We are now offering a new menu at The Gallery! Take a look at what’s on offer!
Our daytime counter is finishing after today’s service, Saturday 15 October 2022! We are handing the counter over to The Gallery after today.
So, coming soon:
The Vikings kitchen will soon be offering food over the counter on various evenings across the week. Stay tuned for more info! Pizza Thorsday is continuing as before, the only difference is that The Gallery’s staff will be taking your order at the counter (rather than a Viking). A cocktail with your pizza? You may indeed! When the Vikings daytime service returns, it will be within the café itself. Yay! Again, we will update you on our progress.
Thank you for your support!
We’ll be back before you know it in the Vikings Bakehouse café.
Today (Wednesday 14 September) will be the season finale of our Wednesday Vikings Bakehouse takeaway evenings!
Our Wednesday evening kitchen service will return in the near future, so don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere!
We hope to see you soon!
Our morning/afternoon menu changes daily, but we always offer sandwiches, cakes, coffee, and other treats, from Thursday to Saturday, 10:00 – 14:00. Please note that we may close a little early if we are sold out (or just about sold out) of sandwiches and cakes.
On Saturdays, you can also grab a seat at Isaacs and order from your table!
We presently have a ‘pop-up’ counter within the Isaacs building, for which all of the food and drink is prepared in the fully vegan Vikings Bakehouse kitchen.
Our morning/afternoon menu changes daily, but we always offer sandwiches, cakes, coffee, and other treats. Our opening hours are here.

Who is Wotan?
Wotan is one of the various alternative names for the Norse war god, Odin. The name is also spelled as Wodan or Woden. While Thursday is Thor’s day, in a similar fashion, Wednesday is Woden’s day. Legend has it that Odin would ride his magical horse, Sleipnir, to travel through the air and across the ocean. Unsubstantiated sightings have placed Odin around the Ipswich Waterfront area, principally on Wednesday evenings. However, many of these claimed sightings may be attributable to the consumption of sumptuous cocktails in The Gallery.
